Re: Carry Permit in Philly, How Long?
Got mine this morning after 70 days. They now have a sign-in sheet for those looking to check the status of their application.

Re: Carry Permit in Philly, How Long?
I think they had that for a while.
I just sign the "pick up permit" sheet [ if it's been 45 days]. Then when they play there game about it not being ready, You push back.

Re: Carry Permit in Philly, How Long?
I picked mine up the other day without the approval letter. Just be polite, respectful, firm, and humble in that order. This is the same as the DMV, and being polite will get you everywhere, whereas if you are rude they can make the process needlessly painful.
I strongly believe any permit is unlawful as per the second amendment, but this is not the time to get pissy about the fact. They are just normal people working a boring job that want to go home at the end of the day. If you treat them like that, instead of like big brother in the flesh, then I suspect they would be kind enough to issue your permit at the 46 day mark. I would like to see same day permits as well like some other counties, but unfortunately this is Philadelphia and everything is bureaucratic. The two women I spoke with were very clear that you should do what you have to do if someone attacks you, and did not seem anti in the least.
It costs nothing to be polite people, and if you forgo that advice your only other realistic options as of now are to suck it up and wait or attempt a lawsuit. I got my permit in 50 some odd days, only because I did not have time to go down until then.I walked in, waited patiently, and then when spoken to I let them know I did not have the letter. I said I waited more than 45 days and asked them if they could please allow me to wait while they processed my application. The woman said she would check if it was ready and I sat down. Several minutes later I left with my LTCF.“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!” ~Samuel Adams
You cannot invade America. There is a rifle behind every blade of grass.” ~ Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto

Re: Carry Permit in Philly, How Long?
It takes time and I failed to read the 45 >>business<< days. They are closed weekends so you can't count the weekends as days to wait. I never got a call and was close to just going there to check the status but I got a letter in the mail to pickup the permit just in time.

Re: Carry Permit in Philly, How Long?
It is not 'business' days, it is calendar days under PA law.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.
