Whats the most irresponsible thing you ever did with a firearm?
We all know we did something that was wrong in hind sight, and that if you could go back in time you would slap the crap oughtta your self for being an asshat.
Mine, I was checking out this pistol a friend had out at his house. we had been drinking and screwing around with thing for a few minutes when I had to take a leak. I came back outside, picked up the pistol and for the life of me cannot figure out whay I did this, I guess alcohol really does impare judgement. But I pointed it a tree and attempted to dry fire a .357 mag. Once my ears stopped ringing I could hear my buddy yelling WTF dude, I loaded that while you were in the pisser. Never before or since have I picked up a weapon without checking it. Guess it could have been worse, thank god no one got hurt.
I'm sure several posts will be to the effect that " I have never had anything like that happen to me, I'm a better person". But I'm sure almost everyone has an incident they wish they could change, and I think we can all learn from others mistakes as well as our own.

Having unsecured ammo in the same room as the guns while showing the guns to some friends. Afterwards I realized what I did and won't do it again.
I fall into the "failsafe," "foolproof," "likely gonna have a senior moment sooner or later" camp of gun handling. Make avoidable accidents or issues impossible (or as impossible as you can) and accidents won't happen (I hope).

Re: Whats the most irresponsible thing you ever did with a firearm?
years ago my friend and i were shooting my excam 25 auto pistol and when we were done i ejected the mag and put everything away. on the way home (in his new car) i pulled the pistol out and asked my friend how he hurt his thumb when shooting my pistol, so i pointed the pistol at the dash and pulled the trigger and BAM... i forgot to clear the chamber needless to say, we didnt have any a\c for the ride home...the bullet went through the dash and into the transmission and cut the wires to the a\c... never happened again after that mishap...
