- You may not catch a fish by any body part except the mouth.

- Though you do not need a fishing license to fish on your own land, but a hunting license is required to hunt on your own land.

- Any motorist driving along a country road at night must stop every mile and send up a rocket signal, wait 10 minutes for the road to be cleared of livestock, and continue.

- A person is not eligible to become Governor if he/she has participated in a duel.

- Ministers are forbidden from performing marriages when either the bride or groom is drunk.

- All liquor stores must be run by the state.

- A special cleaning ordinance bans housewives from hiding dirt and dust under a rug in a dwelling.

- It is contrary to Pennsylvania law to discharge a gun, cannon, revolver or other explosive weapon at a wedding.

-- Open a hairdresser's shop without two diplomas that take five years to earn.

-- Open a shop on a Sunday more than five times a year (exceptions for tourist zones, bakers, florists and corner shops)

-- Sell goods below cost price "with the exception of products that are seasonal or unfashionable" -- and then only during official sales

-- Take, transmit or publish any person's photograph without their permission

What the roo :/ Do you have a link pointing to this law? I sing all the time in the bathtube hehe... Would be rather silly, though just because there are laws like this doesn't mean people couldn't appeal and get away with it.

I have never seen anyone substantiate these musings with legal reference (and that's really to my surprise) or even printed anecdotal evidence. I know it's funny to post this EVERYWHERE YOU GO, but a person might as well make up a list on the spot and post that, receiving the same effect.

I know the law now is crazy. Why didn't the people who ORIGINALLY compiled these just put a simple reference?

Motorcycles can be sold on Sunday but not other motor vehicles. I just heard that on NPR's Radio Smart Talk the other day when they were talking about Sunday Hunting and referencing Blue Laws.
