The only purpose of a scalpel is to cut into living flesh.

That's a mostly-true statement, but it lacks the context that sometimes, flesh needs to be cut. And sometimes, people need to be shot, so they don't rob trains, or shove anyone in front of the subway, or loot stores, or block traffic and imprison people in their cars, or rape, or burn buildings with people in them.

Without guns, we'd have to hack and slash those bad actors, using machetes. Like in Africa.
