Re: Philly Political Figures Speak Out About Gun Control
"cowards" "they lack the courage" "afraid to do anything about it"
Seems to always be the same story. Tell someone they should do something that YOU want them to do, then call them names if they don't do it?
I'm not on any side of a political agenda, but I will listen to any opinion that I think is intelligent. Nutter, Ramsey and the rest of the crew have either given up on the argument because they know they can't win, or they are just stupid.
Yet sometimes I wonder if they are just a reflection of the growing laziness in society. Maybe they don't support their points because the people that put them in office don't care, and neither do the people they represent? Sad all around.

Re: Philly Political Figures Speak Out About Gun Control
According to the Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association (PFOA), laws regarding firearms are as follows:
As long as firearms were legally obtained, no further action is required. It's illegal any government or police department to keep registry of firearm owners.
The minimum age to possess a firearm is 18. But there are two exceptions: the minor must be under supervision of a parent, grandparent or legal guardian and the minor must be legally hunting and trapping.
One must have a permit to carry a concealed weapon or carry one in a vehicle.
PFOA says: "The law is silent on the act of openly carrying a firearm while not in a vehicle, making it de-facto legal. However...a license to carry firearms is required to carry a firearm in any manner on the streets or public property of a 'City of the first class' (Philadelphia)."
A permit is required to carry a firearm at one's place of employment.

Re: Philly Political Figures Speak Out About Gun Control
Congressman Bob Brady also commented on the shooting in a statement on July 20, but did not address gun violence.
"I extend my condolences and prayers for the victims of another mass shooting of innocent people," he said. "But, in the midst of this tragedy, we are again reminded of the importance of our police and first responders and we are gratified by their quick action which probably saved numerous lives.”
That's funny because in reality the police did nothing to save anybodys lives, they waited outside till he practically turned himself in, I do have to hand it to the police though on the account they got there pretty fast though it didn't do any good

Re: Philly Political Figures Speak Out About Gun Control
You know, even though the reporter didn't get the laws 100% accurate, how often do you see that kind of reporting nowadays? This reporter actually did research for once and actually cited (or tried) the relevant laws pertaining to the subject instead of just spouting more Brady campaign lies. I say good for him and I hope to see more like it. Just done a little better...
