Default Back to back positive encounters

In the span of 10 minutes I had two positive encounter - while OCing my little ol' LCP.

First stop, PA Wine and Spirits shop. I'm just finishing checking out and the clerk at the register behind me is saying, "Sir, sir?

I turn around and she asks while pointing toward my gun, "what is that, a gun?". I turn my strong side towards her and reply in the affirmative. She asks if it is a .22, I say no, .380. She's like ".380, wow, that so small, I like that. Do you have a license to carry?". I tell her yes and that it is a Ruger LCP and weighs 12 ounces. The entire time she's admiring my little banger with a grin from ear to ear.

A few minutes later I'm picking up a few items in the grocery store and a younger man comes up to me and asks, "You can carry like that? I just got my "permit" a few weeks ago." I said yes, you can OC in Philly as long as you have your LTCF and that nowhere on the license does it say concealed. He says, "awesome", thanks.

You're on a roll. I don't typically think of people at our local Wine and Spirits as friendly individuals. The ones I have made contact with left much to be desired...

Really? I had several 'encounters' or brief conversations at the Wine and Spirits here and they have all been positive. Not a hairy eyeball among 'em.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I have a great story about the supervisor at one of the local stores. But that is for a different place. Suffice to say I have been in a number of Wine and Spirit stores OC with big guns. Of course, they look little on me, but the point is, I have been in a bunch with no problems at all.

Thanks for sharing. Like I've said before, it is just as important to post about the good/non encounters as it is to post about the bad ones.

I carry in that liquor store frequently and usually with a larger firearm. This is the first time that anyone has noticed or said anything. The clerk was in the middle of ringing up another customer when she began with the questions. The customer didn't react.

Good job with educating people about their laws! It is nice to hear the positive stories and not just the negative ones. Keep up the good work!

When I heard the clerk behind me calling, I expected it to be negative. When I saw her smile and enthusiasm, I was both surprised and relieved. Had I the time, I would have stayed to talk more.
