So, I tried the OC thing.
Decided after Colorado that I wasn't going anywhere unarmed and defenseless.
Did some CC this weekend, out to dinner and shopping with the wife.
Last night a friend mentioned that he was going gun shopping, I said I'll come along if you want to meet after work. So about 4:30 he pulled into Home Depot, where I do deliveries, and we started there. I was carrying my XDm owb, in an Uncle Mikes' nylon holster (I know, but it has a retention strap).
We spent at least 30 minutes in HD looking for a sale item, finally found it bought it and left. No comments, a few ''looks".
Next to Erie Sport Store, where I had left some pamphlets after being told by a salesperson OC wasn't legal, some time ago. Nice long conversation with salesperson, only comment was about holsters, "you can carry like him (me)"
Staples was next, after talking to a woman on the sidewalk walking a Lab.
We talked about the shooting across the street at Target, and I said that's why I'm armed, I refuse to be a victim.
Salesperson at Staples looked at my sidearm several times, but made no comment.
Chick Fil A for lunch, to support their pro family stance, and I thanked the manager, and told him that's why we were there. Tomorrow is National "eat at Chick Fil A" day. OMG the screaming children, of course they were playing in the playroom No other issues.
Finally Gander Mountain. Once again no comments, but a LOOOK from a customer.
Almost a let down, no "hey junior" or "do you really need THAT here"
Hope it's always that easy.
Worse thing that happened was a bee flew into my window and hit me right between the eyes, on my way home. So now my face is swollen up.Last edited by Truckman; July 24th, 2012 at 08:43 PM.

Congratulations on a good OC. I've been doing it four about 2 years, and only have 1 negative encounter (with the police), mostly positive, and most people don't notice or say anything.
Now, get a good holster and belt.Power always thinks...that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws.

Re: So, I tried the OC thing.
Well done. I'm glad one more person has tried OC and has seen that it's not the big deal that people claim it to be.

Since when is homophobia and prejudice a "pro-family" stance?
Anyways, congrats on the OC'ing. Glad you didn't have any problems.Free "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named"

Sounds like a good experience.I agree a good gun belt and a good retention holster, would be a good idea.
