Re: Cav arms Raided by the ATF
Do they even make/sell guns?
I have their 870 adapter. I thought they only made parts.

Re: Cav arms Raided by the ATF
I was wondering why they got a warrant, because US v. Biswell says that the BATFE doesn't need a warrant for an FFL. However, if it is money laundering, it should be the Secret Service serving the search warrant. Something is fishy...

Re: Cav arms Raided by the ATF
Money laundering is becoming the catch all for a federal search warrant on a business... Scary stuff....

Re: Cav arms Raided by the ATF
If this is anything outside of a witch-hunt, I'll be surprised.
When an investigating government agency is vague, and will not offer details on the exact charges, I don't believe them.
"Alleged federal arms violations." Whatever.
The BATF isn't exactly the "poster child" of transparency and honesty in a government agency (ruby ridge and waco)...

Re: Cav arms Raided by the ATF
Yes they do (polymer lowers) and there is something we can do to support them.
Over at AR15.com there is an extensive thread detailing the raid (as much as we know at this point) and what is happening to the company. Apparantly the warrant permitted them to seize inventory, computers and anything else they wanted. Since payroll and everything is on the computers, and their funds were tied up in inventory, this is a neat way to put a relatively small firm out of business.
The firearms community steps up:
One of their distributors is going to help them out by holding in essence a "AR-15 lowers bake sale" - they are going to sell new CAV arms lowers and ALL of the proceeds go to the company. $125 a lower, plus any transfer fees.
Many FFL's are joining in by offering 1 cent transfers (plus NICS fees) on these Cav arms lowers.
Details are here:

FFL's doing transfers for the Cavarms special - note to FFL's: Feel free to add your name!

This is a great opportunity to help out a bunch of stand up guys, and get an extra lower or two in the process.
