Re: Ice-T & Guns: Rapper Says 'United States Is Based On Guns'

Re: Ice-T & Guns: Rapper Says 'United States Is Based On Guns'
Really?
At the age of 17, Tracy received the Social Security death-benefit money for the death of his father to rent an apartment for $90 a month.[8] Marrow sold cannabis and stole car stereos for money, but was not making enough money to support his girlfriend and daughter, leading him to join the United States Army for the financial benefits; he served for four years in the 25th Infantry Division.[8][10] Marrow was in a group that were jailed for the theft of an infantry rug.[8] While awaiting trial, he received a $2,500 bonus check, and decided to escape from the jail and desert his Army duties, returning a month later after the rug had been returned.[8] He received an Article 15 non-judicial punishment, and completed Advanced Infantry Training.[8]
Towards the end of his time in the Army, Marrow learned from his commanding officer that he could receive an honorable discharge and leave the Army early because he was a single father, and left four months ahead of schedule.[8][10]
During an episode of the Adam Carolla Podcast that aired on June 6th, 2012, Marrow admitted that after being discharged from the Army he began a career as a bank robber. Using combat skills allegedly acquired in Army Ranger School, Marrow claimed he and some associates began conducting take-over bank robberies, "...like [in the film] Heat." Marrow then elaborated, explaining, "Only punks go for the drawer, we gotta go for the safe." Although Marrow may have been using some artistic license in describing his bank robbing exploits, he also stated he was glad the United States justice system has a statute of limitations, which had likely expired when Marrow admitted to his involvement in multiple Class 1 Felonies in the early- to mid-1970s.Je suis déplorable

Re: Ice-T & Guns: Rapper Says 'United States Is Based On Guns'
Wait, what school was he in? If he was in the 25th ID that's in Hawaii, and is a light Infantry unit, not a ranger.
I am sure he didn't go to full Ranger school....and only high speed low drag types get selected for RIP, right before they're about to begin serving in the Ranger Regiment usually. And going to RIP doesn't make you a ranger, serving in the Regiment does.
That bio makes no type of sense.
As for getting an article 15, big deal.

Re: Ice-T & Guns: Rapper Says 'United States Is Based On Guns'
Why? He sold drugs, stole car stereos and allegedly robbed banks. He AWOLed for a month, and with Rangers' School he either lied (about his service) or used skills aquired to commit felonies.
What did I miss?
I don't have an opinion on this one, so I have no problem taking your word for it.Je suis déplorable

What i'm saying is that nothing in his bio supports a claim that he went to either Ranger School or RIP.
