Re: What Optics for my new AR?
Let's say I decide to go with the Nikon Scope like the NIKON M-223 8488 3-12x42SF. You can see it here at Amazon. Will this mount also work (Nikon M-223 XR (743) AR Mount w/ 20 MOA Slope ) or will I need some kind of add-on to raise the scope up more. This AR stuff is all new to me. Thanks for your help.

Re: What Optics for my new AR?
I love my Eotech setup with the 3X magnifier, but at times wish I would have put a scope on the AR.. Either way you go you WILL have fun, and down the road you will wish you went the other way. So basically do what you can afford for now!!

It was nice meeting you the other day. Did you ever decide on what scope to get??

Re: What Optics for my new AR?
I took your advice, Rick, and got the Nikon M-223 3-12x42 with the Nikloplex Reticle. I just got it mounted and sighted in this past Monday. I'm hitting with i inch at 100 yards with no problem. Thanks for all your help.

Re: What Optics for my new AR?
Fantastic. I wish I had gone with the 3-12 or the 4-16, myself, but the 2-8 will serve me just fine until I need to upgrade. Little man said to say hello.

I have a TA01 ACOG on mine. If you poke around you can fine them in the $600-900 range.

Re: What Optics for my new AR?
I am using AGOC TAO1 NSNs now. I like them for what they are. I also had an older ElCan that I liked but got rid of. I am now looking at the Leupold VX R Patrol scopes. I saw them at Cabelas in Hamberg a couple of weeks ago. Pretty nice.
