    Default WWB or Blazer Brass??

I was just wondering which would be a better target ammo for my S&W MP .45

I was at walmart to get some more ammo and since prices have gone up for wwb, it is now a couple cents cheaper to get blazer brass.

    $29.88 for 100 WWB
    $14.88 for 50 Blazer Brass

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Maybe there is no real difference between the two I don't know, just figured I would ask.

You must be talking about 9mm, the OP was looking at .45 cal.

Pick up a box of each. What might run well in one gun, may not in another even if they are the same make/model.

Yea I picked up 400 rounds of wwb and 100 rounds of blazer brass. How does the FMJ blazer with the aluminum cases hold up? Or should I stay away from them also like the wolfs since its not brass and has a greater chance of damage to the extractor. Thanks for the help

i shot about 200 rounds of the cheap blazer ammo with no missfires or duds. they do have one thing that bothers me i shot them into a piece of particle board and into a dead stump and they looked like they never were fired. my friend was using the sellier& B and that stuff was destroyed, bullet was stretched and outer casing was all fragments.

I have shot many boxes of both. My gun seems to have a slight preference for the WWB over the Blazer.

I've used a small amount of the Blazer aluminum cased ammo with good results for practice, but since I reload it is of little value or savings in that area.

I've used Wolf steel cased ammo in all of my 45 ACP's, the only time I've had any problems was with the Thompson and broken extractors. Handguns (Kimber & Colt) seem to do ok with it.
I've spoken with several other Thompson owners who have never had any problems with Wolf. However a very reliable gun smith suggests staying away from steel cased ammo, in time he feels that premature wear will occur. Granted a WWII extractor is around $10.00, but the down time and potential risk of further damage isn't worth the few $$ saved with the ammo.

Unfortunately the only way to know what works reliably, and provides the best accuracy is to use several different manufactures of ammo, or to reload until the optimal load is found for that particular handgun. Use either a rest or good support for your arms to determine accuracy from any given combination, attempting to rule out as much human error as possible.
It would be great if there were a simple rule to use, but its always been trial and error. One could purchase consecutive numbered handguns and each could have a different ammo preference.

I've shot a lot of WWB and Blazer brass without issue. The brass works well for reloading as well.

I've shot the aluminum blazer too. It runs well but was actually rather hot over the chrono compared to WWB when I clocked it.
