Just applied for my LTCF
Well, I ordered my first handgun, a Glock 19 yesterday. It shipped today and hopefully I'll be able to pick it up from Todd at Gun Runners before this weekend (it's coming from the Eastern part of Ohio...). I just got back from the courthouse and applying for my LTCF. Hopefully that doesn't take the full 45 days. I'm excited and just figured I'd tell everyone!

Congrats and great choice on your first handgun.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

Re: Just applied for my LTCF
LTCF is a License to Carry a Firearm. I believe its the same as a CCW, CHP, CCL, etc. They all refer to the same thing as far as I know. They must have changed something...I still haven't received my card saying that my application had been accepted. Hopefully it comes this week.

Re: Just applied for my LTCF
A LTCF is not quite the same as a CCW, CHP, CCL.... In Pennsylvania the LTCF grants you a few things.
1. You can carry your firearm concealed on or about your person.
2. You can transport it in your vehicle without having to unload and case it.
3. You can carry openly or concealed in a city of the first class. (Philadelphia is the only one in PA)
Number 3 is the difference. It gives you to the right to open carry in Philly, even though it is legal to open carry in the rest of the state without a LTCF.Μολὼν λάβε

Open carry is legal in Pennsylvania without a LTCF, except in a city of the first class. You need a LTCF to carry openly or concealed in a city of the first class.
You can carry however you want in Philly provided you have a LTCF.Μολὼν λάβε
