It's really not that hard to carry a compact 1911
Wondering who else conceals a 1911 here. Apparently everywhere on the Internet is pretty insistent on 1911's being too bulky to carry. Carried my 3.5" for the first time today and it bothered me no more than my g26. I realize the capacity is less but I wont find a more compact .45.
Just curious as to who else decided to find out for themselves that 1911's aren't hard at all to conceal.

I carry a 4" 1911 Kimber and i wont say that it's the easiest or most comfortable to conceal. It is by all means do-able and i like it as a carry gun.
All it really needs is a proper holster and a good belt. When unholstering your sidearm it is customary to say: "Excuse me while i whip this out"

^exactly. People are downright insistent that it's an impossible task which is "completely obsolete with modern technology and gun designs".
No harder than my glocks or compact sigs.Emergency Medicine prevents natural selection

I carry a Sig Sauer P238.
Granted its not a .45, it's still the most compact 1911 you can get.Si vis pacem, para bellumμολ ν λαβέWhat country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms!

Like stated, all you need is a good belt. I actually use military issue rigger belts which I stock up on when visiting active duty friends on bases for $4 each. They're perfect.

I used to carry a Colt Delta Elite or a Springfield Compact .45 iwb . Did that for years and it didn't bother me. I never understood the fuss of too heavy or too big. Funny thing is I mostly oc now and I have aG19 . Although for the 4th of July I carried the 1911. And I have my eye on either a new Ithaca 1911 or a Kimber TLE. For formal dress! Haha

i usually have a 4.25" 1911 on, its more comfy than a g19 for me but that gets to take a ride sometimes too. i carried a 5" s/s 1911 daily for about three years but woman are asses and i needed lawyer money and fast so i dont have it anymore but if i ever see it again im gonna bug the owner to death or till its mine again, whichever comes first.

Re: It's really not that hard to carry a compact 1911
I have always found 1911s so much easier to conceal than most other handguns, mostly due to how thin they are. While 1911s can seem long, when worn IBW the pants covers them so the length isn't an issue. The grip lengths for all of my handguns are pretty consistent, so that is a moot point to me. Also, what a 1911 looses in capacity, I find it makes up in how easy it is to carry spare mags that completely disappear pretty easily under a shirt.

My Para ord LTC is one of if not my easiest guns to conceal, lightweight (28 ozs) and thin, sometimes i dont even feel it. will be purchasing an iwb holster for it soon.
