Default Can a .44 spl or .44 magnum be fired in a Raging Judge?

    This a theoretical question.

The Raging Judge Magnum clearly says .410, .45 Long Colt, .454 Casull.... but I am wondering why it would not take a .44 spl or .44 maguns since both of these cases and bullets are smaller in diameter and have lower operating pressures then the .454.

    .45 vs. .44 caliber.

.457 case diameter for the .44 mag

.480 case diameter for the .454 casull

The rim of the .44 mag should keep it in the chamber of the .454 casull. Only problem I can imagine is that the hammer and primer might not line up.

Also I see that the Rim thickness on the .44 mag is .60. The .454 is .57, maybe the cylinder will not close.

Why would you want to? the barrel isnt tight enough to add any velosity and the bullet could bounce around in the barrel and cause excessive fouling. bullet diameter .44mag = .429" and a 454 casull =.451" plus you arent supporting the case wall and could lead to ruptures. And just cause something fits doesnt mean its a good Idea, theres a guy on youtube that shot a 50bmg from a 12gauge.

This is just theoretical wondering. Lets say the Zombie Invasion comes and you run out of ammo for the Raging Judge but find some .44 mag. Would it work in a desperate situation?

Velocity will definitively be less and accuracy will be off.

Split brass, dirty chambers, and possible blowback into the rear of the cylinder opening causing flame cutting between brass and chamber walls?

Just shoot what the gun is chambered for.

If it was a situation where you were gona die anyway, I might try it. But you would probaly be better off with a mele weapon. If your just asking if the frame could handle the pressures Id be inclined to say yes. I wouldnt try it tho.
