Who's Your Backup For SHTF/Zombies?
My little sister, Stephanie. She and I went shooting for the first time this past weekend and she did great. Didn't load the wrong caliber round into any of my guns, remembered to keep her finger off the trigger when she wasn't ready to shoot, kept the muzzle toward the ground when she wasn't on target and LISTENED to my instructions. It helps that she's not a bad shot either. To give you an indication of just how stupid and irresponsible some of these people we've talked about on the 'friends you won't take shooting' thread are, she's 16.
She is pretty inexperienced but this decision is a combination of the person you would least like to see die and someone you trust with a firearm. She can run the AR-15 and I'll take my 870.

Hope it's the start of a long term activity. I was shooting last week with my sister, she's 63 and a great grandma.
