Default OC to Philadelphia Traffic court

Forgot to post this last week. I had to go to traffic court and I OC'd into the building. Once I got into the door there was a x ray machine and a metal detector. I informed the PPD Sergeant(white shirt) that I needed to secure my firearm. He asked for my " permit" and led me into a room with lock boxes. He said to secure my firearm in one of the boxes and take the key with me. When I was ready to leave we repeated the process, only this time the officer watched as i holstered my firearm. All in all a very positive experience.

No, the problem in the first place is that they were asking for a LTCF from an OC'er.

He was in Philadelphia so he had to have a LTCF to open carry.

State law also calls it a permit, so there's no reason to jump about it being called one.

That was a very positive experience. I wonder if one would have the same experience for to Jury Duty

A cogent argument can be made that the lockboxes are restricted to use by licensees (6109) or an exempted profession/activity (6106(b)) in ALL counties. Thus an OCer can be required to show a license or prove exemption before being given access to the checking facility.

    18 Pa CS 913
    (e) Facilities for checking firearms or other dangerous weapons.--Each county shall make available at or within the building containing a court facility by July 1, 2002, lockers or similar facilities at no charge or cost for the temporary checking of firearms by persons carrying firearms under section 6106(b) or 6109 or for the checking of other dangerous weapons that are not otherwise prohibited by law.

How about we take an OC walk over there and find out?

We are only a block away!
