Default 2 new N frames, a good start to the weekend.

I finally picked up my 625 off of layaway. It seemed like it took for ever to pay this one off. The gun originally came with a 5" barrel. Someone had it rebarreled to 3". Here are pics of what it looked like when I picked it up.

I replaced the goodyears with wooden grips and installed an old style thumbpiece. The gun came with the old 5" barrel so I can convert it back to its original configurattion is I ever want to.

    It gets better.....

While I was there I noticed another old N frame. This one was an old .455 second model hand ejector. Made in 1916 for the British army. It has since been convertered to accept either .45 ACP moon clips or .45 auto rim cartridges. It has lost its collectors value but should be a good shooter. It came with real stag grips. The asking price was $400, I got for $350. Not bad for an N frame shooter.

These will make a good companion to my 1955 target model.

Anyone else into .45 ACP N frames?

I love an N frame. It fits my hand way better than just about anything else. This is a 325 NG.

That 625 is a beauty. Congratulations on a very nice find.

    I hate you.

I really like the 625 as a three incher.

Congrats on the find and the new additions! I am very intrigued by the .45 revolvers. I haven't been able to shoot one yet but I think it's something that will be right up my alley (I love shooting my .357 mags and 44 mag revolvers). A Smith .45 revolver is definitely on my short list to get.

Thanks, I love them. Big holes with very manageable recoil.

Nothing finer - although I have to give equal consideration to .44 Special N-Frames. Here are my .45's

    Adios,

    Very Nice Bob!

I Like all of the non magnum big bores. Give me a .44 SPL, .45 Colt or .45 ACP N frame and I'm a happy camper.
