Default Best Prices in Schuylkill County for ammo?

I am pretty new to the area (pottsville) and also just purchased my first pistol (s&w mp .45) about 3 weeks ago. I was wondering where the best prices are for getting some target ammo. I have been hitting the walmart in saint clair for the wwb but they have gone up in price in the last week and they never seem to have any in stock. I bought 4 boxes there so far, 1 the first time and 3 the next time they had any. Also do you think walmart would offer a group buy on ammo or atleast allow me to order like 1000 rounds at a time so i don't have to keep checking back?

    Thanks for your time

I do most of my shopping for ammo on the internet. Try Natchez Shooters Supplies prices for ammo and shipping very resonable. Just surf the web and price shop. If I need ammo in a pinch, I go to Keefers Gunsmith in Pine Grove, prices there are also very resonable. By the way, welcome to coal cracker territory.

Another shop that is known for reasonable prices (especially with firearms) is OnTarget in Frackville.

Easy to find: Take Rt. 61 into Frackville. When Rt. 61 turns left towards Ashland, continue straight onto Rt. 924. The shop is immediately on your right (across from OIP Italian Restaurant.

both places above are great for whatever your looking for,. if you are ever on the other side of Schuylkill co. stop by ED's in Tamaqua,. you go right past it (on the right) if you come into town on 209.

you'll probally see bill boards for it driving around town.

have you found the "local" place to shoot yet?

Selection = horrible, that is if your looking for something to get that day. When I went in he had a couple new glocks and a few used rugers in a display case. Some ammo behind the counter and a little bit of reloading supplies and that was it. I thought the shop was closed when I walked in and asked if they were open. He did say that if there was anything I would like he would get it in for me so if your looking for something you don't mind waiting a couple days to get then it could be a decent place to go.

Price = On guns I asked about prices were the best I have seen but he had none of them in stock. He gave me his book from his supplier and said the prices listed are his cost and to add $20.00 and that would be my cost. I was looking for a ruger lcp and he wanted 242.xx, I bought mine somewhere else for 249.95 and cabela's wants 300.xx. So if your looking for a particular gun that you already have your mind set on you could ask him to order you one. I didn't even take notice on price of ammo. It seemed a little high. I asked if he could get me some cci blazers in and he said yea and said his price is 14.99/bx. I just bought 8 boxes at Ed's yesterday for 11.99/bx. That was the only ammo I looked at.

Overall I think once he gets more established it could be a decent shop to go to, but for now I would rather go to a shop with more selection on hand.

Hopefully this has helped answere some of your questions. I'm not trying to deter anyone from going there just letting you know ahead of time it is a nice large store with nothing in it.

I live a few blocks away and haven't stopped in because it looks so empty. I'll try and stop by in the next few days.
