Apparently my walmart is lacking in this also, they said the ammo case has been broken into multiple times already. And nobody has caught the guy.

if a police officer had been on the scene he would have been justified in shooting the guy with the air guns because he would have no way of knowing that it wasnt a real gun.

Which is interesting when you think about it. Walk around your walmart sometime and make a note of where the majority of their surveillance cameras are located. Checkout lines, pharmacy and electronics, not much of any kind of surveillance around sporting goods.

I'm guessing it's because of the value of things that can be lost. Walmart doesn't make a lot of money off of ammunition because the profit margin is so low, so it isn't worth it to put cameras up there. But they make a decent margin on electronics and the pharmacy, the cameras at checkout are more to catch employees stealing than customers. This is a guess, but I think it's interesting how security is laid out.

Point taken, but that isn't what happened, and you can usually tell if they are the type to go that route - I'm sure she weighed the risks first.

I used to work as wal-mart security a few years back, and what you think to be good security with all those cams isn't even close. most are not connected or even used. The store I was at had only three in store people and three Parking lot patrol people toltal. In store people worked random hours. what cams that worked and were usd also changed at random and were recorded but lets just say not as many as it appears to be. So in short your take your chances. The mind set is if you see a cam it is recording you. True is may be yes, maybe no. Now this may have changed over the years but Shop at your own risk.
