Default How do you make a 92/M9 super accurate?

How do you make a 92/M9 super accurate? I re-read a past article in a gun magazine it spoke of the Military effort to make the M9 really accurate, for there competition team. In the articlue they were very successful with lighten the barrel up and trigger job and other things that mad ethe M9 a real tack driver.

Any ideas on how a layman could do that? Or what it would cost for a gunsmith to do it.

Without taking away the great reliablity of the gun. I shot the 92 really well but want more.

There is only one way to make a Beretta 92 " super " accurate, let Mel Gibson shoot it.

    Don't forget Bruce Willis.

Beretta's are generaly accurate just out of the box. If you need a competition gun then why not try beretta's best gunsmith David Olhasso?

456 - I'll do some research and find out more about Mr. Olbasso. I think any tighten up usually makes the gun more accurate but less reliable.

Well, you could go the route I did, as posted a little while back here:

It sure is accurate enough now for me. Only thing I am going to add is adjustable target sights.

That's what I was gonna say.

What kind of accuracy are you looking for? Can you quantify it?

And how did they beat Sig for the military contract? They were basically tied with Sig and at the last minute they substantially dropped the price for the complete package of guns, magazines, and parts and the rest is history. Talk about dirty pool.

Back to the topic, you have to poke around but there are gunsmiths that will do work on the 92F/FS-M9 and make them real nice target guns. Match grade barrels and compensator, target sights, trigger work, etc. If you have a gunsmith do the work you will probably spend the same with him that you spent on buying the pistol.

Check out Brownells, they have a bunch of stuff for that pistol.
