Man robs bank open carrying.
Just saw on the Philly news this morning that a man robbed a local bank with a straw hat, a sheet over his head, and "a handgun strapped to his side."
So much for "OCers don't commit crimes, and are all good guys."
Looks like the bad guys are learning that OCing is legal right up to the moment they commit their crime.
Is this the sort of "education" OCers have been spreading?

Maybe we should just outlaw concealed carry since the 99.9999999% of criminals conceal carry before committing crimes.

Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Man robs bank open carrying.
I did not call for the banning of anything. One of the posters of this forum has in his custom signature a quote of mine that says, "If bans work so good, why don't politicians just ban criminals?"
I offer no solutions, merely observations.

I believe the straw hat and sheet over one's head differentiates the individual from the rest of us OCers.

Re: Man robs bank open carrying.
Technically, all public carry in Philadelphia is illegal, but there's an exception for those licensed. In the rest of the state, it's illegal to carry concealed without an LTCF. The wording is set up so that having a license isn't an exception, "not" having a license is an element of the offense.
Regardless, most open carry is not a prelude to a crime. Neither is concealed carry. But it's like mosquitoes, the ones you are aware of don't bite, it's the females who bite, and they don't buzz. So if OC were banned because some asshat displayed his gun before robbing the place, all you'd get would be fewer people legally OC'ing, and you'd still have most of the bank robbers hiding their weapons. They'd still rob the place. You'd just be able to hassle the OC'ers who weren't planning to rob the place.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Is a straw hat part of Streaker's summer attire?
I must admit, I have two straw hats in different styles but haven't had them out yet this season.MikeP
