    Default Unusual find....

I picked up a XD service pistol today, the slide is marked .357 XD but it is a .40 the barrel is a factory barrel that is marked with the pistol serial number. The pistol is in excellent plus shape very little wear internally like new exterior with box and 2 mags ( 10 rd ) and the best part the price 300.00 out the door. Anyone ever seen a " mismarked " XD before?

Talking completely out of my ass here, since I don't know a thing about multi-barrel guns. But, I would think if it came from the factory with a second barrel of a different caliber, they would both have serial numbers matching the frame. Maybe the .357 barrel is still the prior owner.

They did make .357sig XD service pistols. Maybe the gun was purchased as some kind of package deal from Springfield with both .357sig and .40 barrels and the PO sold the .357sig barrel and left the .40 in? I'd say $300 is a great price. I'd get a .357sig barrel for it also.

Since the .357 Sig is just a necked-down .40 case, they would both use the same magazine. Your gun probably originally came with two barrels. So, if you want to shoot .357 Sig in your gun, all you should have to do is buy a barrel.

Obviously, you should verify everything you 'learn on the Internet'...
IANAL. I don't give legal advice. I'm only stating my OPINION.
(Did I really need to say that on an Internet forum? LOL)

Interestingly enough both magazines are marked .40 on the base plates. Yeah I am going to start looking for a .357 barrel.

dont mean to hijack this thread but, is it true that if you take the barrel out of a glock 23 and put in a glock 32's barrel , u can shoot 357 caliber bullets?? is it as simple as that??? do u have to change anything else in the 23?? anything at all??

That it, just drop a G32 barrel into the G23. A G33 barrel drops into a G27 and a G31 barrel drops into a G22 also. You can even put a G32 barrel into a G27. The .40 mags work with .357sig no problem.
