American Hunters - World's largest army
AMERICA'S HUNTERS
Pretty Amazing!
The world's largest army...
America's hunters!
A blogger adding up the deer license sales in just a handful of states arrived at a striking conclusion:
There were over 600,000 huntersthis season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number:
Over the last several months, Wisconsin's hunters
became the eighth largest army in the world.
More men under arms than in Iran.
More than France and Germany combined.
These men deployed to the woods of a single American state,
Wisconsin, to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.
That number pales in comparison to the 750,000
who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and
Michigan's700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely.
Toss in a quarter million hunters
in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact
that the hunters of those four states alone would
comprise the largest army in the world.
And then add in the total number of hunters in the other
46 states. It's millions more.
The point?
America will forever be safe
from foreign invasion with that
kind of home-grown firepower .
Hunting....
it's not just a way to fill the freezer..
It's a matter of
national security.
***************************************
That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic,
want to see us disarmed. Food for thought, when next we consider gun control.
-------------------------------------
Overall it's true,
so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters
don't possess the same skills as soldiers, the question
would still remain... what army of 2 million would want to face
30, 40, 50 million armed citizens.

I see where the article is "trying" to go, but still,,,,sorry.
I always get irritated when people try to connect Hunters and 2nd amendment advocates and Military as all one group...again, sorry, no go.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mK2JYfZAmA When will America become America?

Add in the fact that Pa deer hunter alone have killed more than 300,000 deer a year over the past ten years. If similar numbers were inflicted on a potential enemy they could not bring enough troops.

Re: American Hunters - World's largest army
I'm pretty sure King George once said this around the year 1776.
I understand that not every hunter could be a soldier but. History has shown time again that citizens with certain skills can over throw a much more powerful force. And that was just a very small group imagine a group 100 times that size. Even if 10% of the armed people in this country were fit for battle that what like maybe close to a million people?WHEN DEMOCRACY TURNS TO TYRANNY, THE ARMED CITIZEN STILL GETS TO VOTE

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion, without the discomfort of thought.

Re: American Hunters - World's largest army
And as the wars we are in now show, will suffer many casualties and horrible morale and will quickly be pushed into leaving due to fighting an invisible force..... russians vs afghanistan. U.S. vs vietnam. Brittish vs colonists. U.S. vs middle east. And the list could go on.
Just playing devils advocate. Also, don't underestimate those unorganized persons ability to set up organized cells and organized cells ability to fold together into larger forces........ ect......... history shows it is what happens time and time again.Never underestimate the stupidity of your fellow human. Always carry a weapon!

Re: American Hunters - World's largest army
LOL, but your right. Hunters utilize firearms in their pursuit of hunting, and that is as far as it goes. Many hunters are not shooters and in fact stowe their rifles 11 months a year until it is time to sight them in again. These types are the last in line in the pursuit of defending the 2A. Time and time again you will hear some uninformed person on either side of the gun issue make the statement that with the number of hunters in the state, Pa. would not pass New York or New Jersey type gun laws.

Re: American Hunters - World's largest army
True enough if it is a force v. force on a battlefield.
But the thing the hunters has to their advantage is - the other side really doesn't know exactly who are the opposing hunters. Some groups or individual can go undetected and cause all sorts of harm to the leadership, supply chains, etc of the other side.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
