    Default Which .357 magnum

So., I'm in the market for a revolver. I'm looking for something to add as a collection addition, it will be used at the range mostly and for home defense.
So I really like the 4" S&W model 28 there is a nice one for sale on gunbroker but I would like to find one local if possible, also a model 29/629 would not be a bad thing. I like the 686 but I really prefer the pinned and recessed models with the firing pin on the hammer.
Just looking for some advice or coercion on a nice 4" Smith.

I like the 629 with a Hogue rubber the best. In 4" form, it is a perfect balance of size, accuracy, handling, and just plain balance. Great revolver.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Forgot to say that the 4" 629 is easy on the eyes, as well.

I'd stick with the model 28 if you like it. You could also check out the Model 19 and 66.

Also the fixed sight versions. Models 13 and 65.

    Good luck!

I'm hesitant on the K-frames cause I'm reading quite a bit on the forcing cone with 125gr 357 loads. I'll shoot 38's but I'm shooting 357's when at all possible; and since I reload it's possible.

Thanks for the response also, much appreciated.

I have an S&W 686. Very nice. Never cared where the firing pin was. All I ever asked for was the bullets shoot when the hammer falls.

Test fired a Ruger GP-100 years ago, no complaints.

    +1 on the Model 19!

Mine is my absolute favorite handgun. I have a 6" bbl nickel plated. I don't carry it but I absolutely love shooting it and am planning on taking a deer with it when I get a chance during the season.
