Minor encounter at Olive Garder
So I was on a second date with this girl and I was open carrying. We decided to go to olive garden for dinner. We had a great meal there and I just asked for the check when the manager Amita came up to me and started talking.
Manager: Is there a reason why your carrying like that?
Me: I carry like this because its perfectly legal
Manager: Well I had a few customers come up to me with concerns
Me: Well its perfectly legal in the state of PA and your store policy is to follow state and local laws, I know this because I checked before I came here.
My date: Its okay hes in the army (omg I have soo pissed when she said that)
Manager: Oh I'm not soo sure but I'll have to check and I don't have a problem with you carrying I like guns but this is a family restaurant
Me: Well what I am doing is perfectly legal, its not like its gunna jump out of its holster and besides when was the last time you saw a criminal open carry?
Manager: Oh well I just wanted to come over and check so I hope I didnt bother you and have a good evening
So that was pretty much the end of it, there was a family across the way that kept staring at us, so Im pretty sure it was them who complained. I looked there way and just gave them as a smile before I left.

I like how guns are not considered to be "family friendly".....
Of course, I have nephews that like to run around with toy holsters and toy revolvers and my grandma and aunt were highly disapproving. But then one time I called my grandma while I was on my way home from the range and she asked what I was doing and so I told her and she about freaked out.
I guess sometimes we get so used to guns that we forget other people are rather freaked out about it all."Stupid people are ruining America." --Herman Cain

"...but this is a family restaurant."
Me: "Excuse me? What exactly did you mean by that? Did you just insult me? I'm going to need your name and title, your manager's name, and the district manager's name and contact information."
I personally find that comment insulting, and I'm betting that insulting the customers like that is not an everyday practice.
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Re: Minor encounter at Olive Garder
By the way, now that I've got all my righteous indignation off my chest, isn't it Olive Gardens corporate policy to not allow weapons in their restaurants?
