Difference between 92fs and m9?
Some one school me on these 2 guns. I've shot the 92fs before and rather like it. I'm interested in getting one as my full size pistol. But not really sure what the difference is between the 92 and m9. Also what's a fair price for a used one?

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
There are quite a few small differences. The sights on the M9 are the post style and the 92 are 3-dot. The mags have a different coating on them, the M9 mags are supposed to be more sand/dirt resistant. As someone already stated the M9 has unique serial numbers/markings.
The both have the same Bruniton finish, ambi-safety, reversible mag release, and frame design.
They are usually around the same price, however I don't know what a fair used price would be.

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
My LGS (Tanners) has them for $515 new, so I would have to guess a fair price would be in the $450 range. I've seen them offered here in the classifieds recently for right in that ballpark.

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
Taurus makes their own Model 92.
Is this a somewhat acceptable equivalent or not even in the ball park?
Right now our LGS has a rarely fired Taurus 92 for $390.
I was wondering your thoughts since the 92 was brought up.
Thanks.
God bless!!

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
I've fired a Taurus 92. Didn't notice any difference. Biggest deterrent for me of buying a Taurus over a Beretta is it's a Taurus. I am not one of those ppl who holds onto non-collectable guns for a lifetime, so resale is an important factor to me. Taurus retail sucks. If you buy it today for $390, you wouldn't be able to sell it privately for more than $300 tomorrow. Trade-in to a gunshop and your rectal region would be aching.

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
I am not up on all the small differences between the two, but short answer would be not a lot that matters...To me anyway...
I own a 92 F, it was my first pistol I bought when I turned 21 over 20 years ago... It is still my most trusted gun and would be my go to handgun if the SHTF, has thousands of rounds through it with NO failures ever.
They are great guns IMO. I recently added CTC laser grips to mine and picked up some 20 rd Mec-gar mags for it
If I was looking to buy, the one feature that I would want that mine doesn't have is a rail. And that is on, I think, the model M9A1?.
Here is a video of a guy showing some differences of the M9 and 92FS. Interesting my older 92F has the same post/dot sights(which is my preferred type) as his newer M9 ???

Re: Difference between 92fs and m9?
One of the differences is the M9 is made in the USA. The 92 is made in Italy.
