    Default A new build

This started out as a Ruger A54 frame with most of the internals in place. I had to add the mainspring assembly, bolt and barrel/receiver. The frame was painted in a black crinkle finish that came right off when I started cleaning it so I decided to Cerakote it in Blue Titanium.

It shoots very good and very quiet when I attach my Spectre

The frame and internals are at least 42 years old as, IIRC, Ruger changed from the A54 frame to the A100 frame in 1970.

Brian - The more I work with Cerakote, the better I like it. In fact, I went ahead and bought the book of Cerakote "swatches" so that my customers can actually see what finished product looks like on metal. The colors on their web site are ok, but having it in on the swatches is definitely more accurate a color rendition.

In fact I have another Ruger Security Six coming that will be in need of an overhaul, I'm now thinking about what color combination I want to do.

Thanks. I never got stationed there although I wanted to. I actually get to Boise fairly regularly with my full time job. Love the area. Next time I'm there, if I get the time, I'm going to stop in to Tactical Solutions to see if they'll show me around.
