Favorite gun shops
I am new to the forums, but I have been reading them for a few months now, and I noticed that the Lancaster county forum had a topic of their favorite gun shops so I thought we could try it on the York county forum as well. Over the past eight years that I have lived in York county I think I have visited most of the shops in the area, and I have come to the conclusion that I like some more than others. I guess my top three shops are Stubby Gear in the Thomasville area, Freedom Armory near Glen Rock, and even though it is in Lancaster county I like Backwoods Outfitters as well. Each of these shops have great customer service, are very knowledgeable and they have reasonable prices. Most of the shops that I have visited are good but the three that I mentioned above are in my opinion the best of the best.
I would love to hear from some other forum members as to their favorite gun shops, and why they like them. There may be some shops that I never knew about that may be worth a visit.

Re: Favorite gun shops
My all time favorite gun shop is Shupp's Gunsmithing on Druck Valley Rd in York. John Shupp is an outstanding guy. Shop doesn't always have all the new stuff or a huge selection, but he is one of the most honest guys to deal with and if you want it....he can get it for you. Great guy, great little shop. It is really off the beaten path, so if you don't know it's there...you'll miss it.

Re: Favorite gun shops
I have never been to Shupp's Gunsmithing. Sounds like a good place, and I will have to check him out. Are there any other small, off the beaten path type shops out hinding out among the hills and valleys of York county?

Re: Favorite gun shops
+1 on Shupps.
I also really like Freedom Armory in Glen Rock.
Stoneybrook is okay too.
Shupp's has to be my favorite though.

I would have to say Stubby's and Shupps. I've dealt with both and have never had a problem. Both will get what you want if they don't have it. This is just my humble opinion..

Re: Favorite gun shops
Shupps and Stubbys
Neither looks at you like you are stealing. They are very helpful. Bud

Re: Favorite gun shops
None in York County (and yes I live in the county), did just go to one in northwestern PA that I liked though. For the life of me, I can't remember it.
