    Default How long for CCW?

I applied Thursday of last week for my CCW in Allegheny county. I was told at the office to expect application processing time to be 3 to 4 weeks. I was wondering if that is the actual amount of time processing is taking or if that is just the default answer.

I guess my question is, has anyone applied lately and how long did it take?

    Thanks.

dunno. you are sorta in unchartered territory.

under the old sheriff (defazio), they used to issue it on the spot. but, as of the beginning of november, there is a new sheriff. since he's only been around for a month, there isn't much of a track record.

let us know how long it takes for you to get yours, though. then when others have this question we might know what to tell them.

Pennsylvania State Law gives them 45 days to complete the process. Some counties do it on the spot, some draw it out as long as possible.

I applied last week for mine as well. The folks at the office said they'd see me back around xmas. So, they're planning on about 3 weeks or so they insinuated.

Also, am article I posted in the "Allegheny pwns you all" thread." It says in there that it takes around 45 days.

As danp said, the 45 days comes from the legal limit. I think they have to give you a yea or neigh in 45 days.
