Lost Gun
I'm not sure the proper way to ask this,
On May 02, 2002 My brother from the Harrisburg area died. He was holding onto my Mauser K98 but after he died it was nowhere to be found in his collection. I recently found some old documents and found its serial number (1374). What Steps should I take in order to hopefully get it back?

Re: Lost Gun
I think we need more details. Do you think another family member took it?

I agree with HiredGoon - make sure you thoroughly check with all your family members before you take the next step.

Re: Lost Gun
You are not making it clear. Do you suspect someone of having it or is there no clue as to it's whereabouts?
Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.

Re: Lost Gun
I just don't know where it is or how it was lost. Maybe a ffl dealer around Harrisburg may have a record of it.
Thanks

Re: Lost Gun
I would send a message, FRIENDLY meassage, to all family members who MIGHT have seen, borrowed, confiscated, misplaced, stolen or otherwise diasappeared the gun in question. Let them know politely that you are quite worried about it's whereabouts and are going to report it stolen so that you don't get in trouble.
My guess is someone will remember seeing it in their closet andit will magically reappear quickly. If not, follow through with the plan.

Re: Lost Gun
At the last wedding a few weeks ago I asked if anyone had it. The next wedding is June may be it will turn up. I hope that some may mention to a gun dealer in or around Harrisburg. I called a few dealers and will continue to follow up.
Thank you for your interest,
Charles
