Default Firearm Aps for iPad, iPhone and Other Devices

I recently purchased an iPod Touch and was looking through the different applications for firearms. I like the idea of having an easily accessible electronic log of my firearms, reloading stats, range results, etc... BUT, I am hesitant to load this information onto the device because I don't what is being electronically collected at the "other end", who can gain access, system security, etc...

Several of the sites state they maintain your information but it is not shared, provided to any other organization, etc... but I don't particularly believe that.

Anyone have thoughts on this? Any aps you guys recommend?

    Thanks!

I use shooter, its out for the Iphone and android platforms. its a couple of bucks but its a great app for looking at bullet drop, so far its dead on with all the calibers I shoot, you put in a couple of specs and it tells you how many clicks to move your scope for diffrent ranges.

I have 5 apps I use on my iPod touch.
Isnipe for a great ballistics calculator
Mildot because it helps using mildots to range estimate
Bulletdrop rarely gets used now that I have isnipe
IHunt Calls as an electronic game call. Use it for crow and coyote hunting with a battery powered speaker. Works well.
And GunDisassembly2 helps taking guns apart down to the frame. Good stuff.

Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

LOL, it does a LOT more than just those things. If you know how to use the program, it'll do things that $300 programs do, and just as accurately out to distances that would be considered ELR.

Rovert, spent the $10 and get Shooter, lol. It's a ballistics calculator with truing function, solutions, movers, mil dot estimation, etc. It will take manual or get station information for the weather. It'll run on Density Altitude if you want. It has a truing function. I mean it'll easily replace 3 of the programs that you're using in one nice smooth interface. Maybe it's not worth it to you, but for 3 programs in 1, and the ability to use mils, moa, iphy, and all kinds of other functions, it's definitely the way to go.

I was just wondering the same (similar) thing as the OP.

Just started shooting myself and wanted something to keep track of my shooting; I.E. how many rounds, what range, what weapon, target photos, etc.

Saw a bunch on Play (I am using an android phone) and just started using http://www.rangelog.com. So far seems like a cool little management tool. Not quite what others have posted so far which seem more in tune with the mechanics of shooting and not necessarily just keeping track of shooting events.

I may try some of the other apps listed above as well, can always delete them if they are not what I need.
