    Default Question RE: Firearms License

    Hi All,

New to the forum. I recently filled out the Firearms license Application for the State of PA. I was curious who I mail this to? Can someone shed some light? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

You would send it to the Sheriff's office of the county where you reside.
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

I would think that you, as TheMayor, would already know this.

Some county sheriffs require you to drop off the app in person. I have no clue what Chester requires but it may be on their website if they have one. Just something to check on. I am sure there are plenty of Chester County residents here who can answer.

Go in person. They will have you fill out 'their own' form. I did the one contained here in this forum too and they made me re-do. Pretty damn similar. Plus they take your picture for a $5 or bring your own passport type photo. took me about 3 weeks to get in the mail. They take personal checks.

How recently was this that they charged you $5 to take a photo? As of some time last year, they should be taking the photo at no extra charge beyond the now state-wide $20 fee.

The form looks to be nearly identical to other counties, with the exception of the logo at the top of the page.
It says that they will take a digital photo, no mention of supplying your own photo.
