Default Gas prices way up since the Elections ended

Anyone else notice that gas prices are up almost 30 cents/gallon since the elections ended? Coincidence that prices were cheap at election time? I think not...

From the end of summer till the election oil prices dropped 12-15 percent. Gas dropped over 30 percent in some places. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

In my opinion it has nothing to do with the elections, big oil doesn't care who is in office, the price per was bouncing up and down during the Klinton years. Over the span that I have been driving the gas price has been subject to cost spikes in the summer (when most people go vacation) and around the holidays Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas when people are on the road traveling to visit family and friends. It's just the oil industry's way of making a profit.

Over the years that I have been driving--When I bought my first car the price a for a gallon of gas was around $0.199 for a gallon for ethel. It rose slowly to $0.299 a gallon for premium during the late '60's. In 1972 (I believe) we had the so called oil shortage and when the price per gallon doubled to $0.609 per gallon, no more shortage.

The oil company's management wants to get the price per gallon in US to be on line with what the Europeans are paying.

I like how you point out the price of ethanol. I'm glad our country successfully switched over to that independant alternative thus destroying the need to Arab oil, oh wait that's Brazil.

I just find it odd at the end of summer we had the largest gas price drop I can ever recall, yet the price of oil only dropped $10-12.

Remember there are still Democrats calling for a winfall profits tax on the oil companies, notice the increased adverstising by oil companies about how they are good people in the past year or two. See what healthcare stocks did the day after the election? Almost everyone was down 5%, while the market was doing good. Socialized medicine anyone?

Every corporation is better off with a certain political party in office.

It's purely supply and demand. It fell because oil prices have have fallen dramatically and the gas prices were just starting to come to balance with the lower oil prices. Now demand is increasing because of the holidays. No need for tin foil hats

Bush was asked about the price of gas going up. His answer. . .

it's always just a bit cheaper in NJ, they just have a lower tax on it there, versus PA.

Yet our illustious governor, Fat Eddie, want to increase the gas tax by twenty-five cents per gallong. What kind of payback does he get for raising taxes that he doesn't have to pay? We pay for his transportation across the board.

I have no problem with a 25 cent raise per gallon so long at it all goes towards PA roads because our roads are worse than any other states that I've seen.

I can't believe PA residents have put up with this terrible infrastructure for as long as they have.
