"HOT" 44 mag load?
Hey all I just recently purchased a Smith 629 classic and i am looking for your recommendations on a good "hot" factory load. I want to buy a few boxes of some really powerful ammo to accompany my plinkin ammo.
Let me know thanks guys! When unholstering your sidearm it is customary to say: "Excuse me while i whip this out"

I don't really know why you would want to punish your gun and yourself like that, but it's not my place to discourage you.
Have, ummm, fun.

Garrett cartridge pretty much pioneered what you are looking for many years ago:

I shoot my 6 1/2" 29 Classic with handloads only, and when pushing my own 250 grain cast bullets to a measured 1350-1400 fps velocity, comfortable it ain't. Mostly due IMO and experience to its wide grooved trigger, narrow exposed backstrap, and too small OE Hogue mono-grip . Looking to get a larger "X" grip for mine (fit should be OK/decent on the RB Classic), or somthing bigger and see how it feels going full bore. Hope you enjoy your new revolver.

Re: "HOT" 44 mag load?
Thanks! I'm gonna try both the garrett and the buffalo bore.
I just took the gun out for its first run today and wow what a blast to shoot.
I cant wait to get it out again, excellent trigger and just a smooth feeling shot.
However this was only with some cci blazer ammo! When unholstering your sidearm it is customary to say: "Excuse me while i whip this out"

Re: "HOT" 44 mag load?
load yourself.
44 mag is perfect for it. i have 180-240 grain loadings. anything more than 240gs is getting into 500mag territory.it's only metal, we can out think it....
