Z-Bolt BTMK-2S green laser
I picked up this Z-Bolt milsurp 5mW green laser a month or so ago, brand new in box. Took it to the range and fired around 100 rounds of .223 with the thing...zero held great. Unfortunately by the end of the session the laser had expanded to the size of a golf ball. Ugh.
I called John at Z-Bolt to ask about the 1-year from date of purchase warranty. He told me that the unit is almost 5 years old and that the warranty doesn't apply anymore. Then he turned into a bit of an *sshole and hung up on me after I asked a few questions. Needless to say I'll be avoiding Z-Bolt in the future.
What would cause this to happen to a laser - the lens falling off or into the unit? Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure all the screws/bolts are all tight, and use a lens cleaner and cloth to wipe off the lens. The laser gets diffused by carbon buildup from firing.
