Is it the 390 or the newer 3901?

Either way, Beretta makes one hell of a gas gun...and $600 is a steal for any modern semi-auto shotgun.

If you like it, and it fits...buy it.

Buckmark, Its a 390, the one with the slight hump at the baxck by the hANDgrip that looks like a Browning A5, ive heard great things about berettas, iown 3 beretta handguns and theyre all great guns.

Youve answered my main question , its a Gas gun as opposed to a recoil operated, i heard the gas guns shoot a little softer ????

The Stock appears that it will fit me fine. It will be strictly for Turkey hunting upland birds and a little informal skeet , should do fine i think.

    Nyman,

For a sporting gun the WInchester Super X II Sportings can be found around $600.

For a field gun on a budget, look at the Stoeger 2000. Made in Turkey but uses the Benelli drive system...very decent gun for $450.

I went bird hunting for the firsttime since I was a teenager with a 390. The gun performed flawlessly. I am on blood thinners for blood clots and was worried about the bruising on my shoulder but all went well.

Very highly rated gun and much easier to clean than the newer 391's. I bought one recently. Also you can get the Beretta Gel Tek recoil pad for it to decrease recoil further.

My wife shoots 2 Beretta A-390's for Trap. Both have seen thousands of rounds without a single issue. They can easily go through a 400 round tournament without any cleaning. The gun is very easy to clean, and it doesn't take long to do so. I also have a Remington 1100 Trap Grade, and while it's a good gun, I think the Beretta is a simpler gas system that utilizes fewer parts. Simpler is always better. Kalashnikov proved that in 1947.
