Default Advise for belt for OC

Ive been open carrying for about 6 months now. I have the problem that I have to pull my belt up allot everything always feels like its sagging down. I seen some belts advertized for open carry. Ive been looking around and dont know witch one to get and I dont want to wear suspenders to hold up my belt. I seen that wilderness systems belts pretty popular. I carry a XD45, spair clip, leatherman tool, phone, fenix light. Ive also seen duty belts witch look like theyd be they way to go to hold everything and not fell like the belt is always falling down.

What should I be looking for in and OC belt
Is a duty belt to bulky it looks like it holds everything good
What does you guys use as an OC belt

I've had a Ted Blocker belt for maybe 15 years and it has served well. It was getting a little (lot) beat up so I shopped around. I was attracted to Bull Hide belts and got one. It is so much sturdier it is unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and spring for the metal second keeper ($8). It really dresses it up. These belts are not cheap but when did you ever get 15 years out of a dress belt you wore every day? I bet the Bull Hide lasts even longer.

+1 for Crossbreed. I wear one daily. Looks pretty good for the amount of wear it gets.

Same belt you'd use for CC, except maybe Bedazzled... Maybe a fancy buckle too...

right now though i have a 5.11 rappelling belt. i have had a 1911 with 30 rounds of 230gr, 2 decent sized folders, a multitool, zippo, surefire pen, surefire light, iphone and wallet hanging off the thing, well just the gun and the ammo, rest were in pockets, and it stays where you set it.

once i actually hung off the belt, 50 rounds of 6.8, the 1911 with the 30 rounds two multitools(mut and sog) and both my ka-bar kukri machete and the regular old knife our troops used. belt hardly broke a sweat.

Whatever gunbelt you'd use for concealed carry would work for open carry, as long as it's a stiff, thick. Try looking here: http://www.gibsongunleather.com/

I use the Wilderness Tactical 5 stitch CSM belt with the plastic insert. It works well holding my XD45 Compact.

Two things no one has mentioned that greatly impact your ability to support a weapon. First your pants MUST be properly fitted. If you are going to carry OWB your pants must fit your waist fairly well. Not tight but not loose. This really keeps things from sagging. I wear a 40 inch waist but some of my jeans are 42. They sag my 40 inch waist pants do not. I know I used to carry a P89 and that had some real weight to it.

Second is the holster. I used to use a Fobus. I liked it and thought it was great. When I upgraded to my XD I needed another holster and went with www.rgrizzleleather.com (Ryan Grizzle) and got a custom one made for $100. I use the Georgia Snap model because I like the ease of taking it on and off. It was a HUGE difference in how my gun carried.

    Just my two cents.

Since it hasn't been mentioned as of yet http://agcustomgunleather.com/ is also a favorite around here. People who have both say the quality is equal to that of a beltman.
