Re: Discuss
I think the panel covered it pretty well. He may have been within the law where this took place, but I know I personally couldn't shoot a guy over a truck and some money.
On another note, the criminal had too good of a shooting stance when he first drew the gun. In real life he'd be lucky not to shoot his junk off carrying it in his waistband. If he was a criminal from Lancaster anyway

Re: Discuss
yeah I have to agree with what the panel said. No sense at that point to kill the guy. Most extreme make a citizens arrest or do what the panel said and be a good witness.
Yeah the criminal must have got some training prior to holding the guy up.

Re: Discuss
At the time the victim shot the bad guy , his life was not being threatened
There fore the so called victim will be charged with 2nd degree murder.
Only my humble opinion again !

Re: Discuss
I have trained with Kathy Jackson and I think her comments were most relevant. Pincus was good also. Funny how the cop, from gun hating Illinois, wanted to know where this took place...."everyone is going to jail".
Ability, Opportunity, Jeopardy are the key elements in a self defense shooting. The scenario as presented was actually a case of murder. The bad guy was no longer a threat the truck owner.

Re: Discuss
Yep, the "good guy" became the bad guy. Shouldn't have fired. Threat was gone.

Re: Discuss
In some states you can shoot in defense of property. In every state you should be able to.
Your real property is a portion of your life. You exchanged some of your precious and finite minutes of life for the money to buy your stuff. Someone taking it is taking a little bit of your life.
So I disgaree with the experts philosophically. It looked good to me. However I am fully aware that it would not be legal in Pennsylvania and therefore I wouldn't have done it here.If you don't know who your state legislators are go here:
