Stevens 512 Shotgun :/ I think the firing pin broke

Boyfriend got me the gun for Christmas. Well I have't had it out that much for trap . Lucky if 200 rounds through it. So yesterday I go to shoot and it was working fine. The second round it appears that it wasn't striking the primer.
I guess the firing pin is broken.

I was going to take it out today and try a different ammo and make sure the
bottom barrel works.
Any advice on where to take it in the Pittsburgh area or is this something I could repair myself?

My cousin has one of these guns in 20ga that he shoots skeet with, it has broken 2 firing pins in a couple thousand rounds. Savage/Stevens has been good about sending replacements for free. They have used a gunsmith that shoots on our team for the repairs, I don't know if it's something you can do yourself or not.

If you plan on shooting a lot, I'd look into trading the gun on something like a Browning Citori for reliability reasons.

Broke second set of pins in my 512 this weekend after about 1k rounds over two skeet seasons, bottom pin broke tip completely off, top pin was cracked at back of pin. called savage and they are shipping out new set. Their customer service is great, just wish the pins were more reliable.
