Default in county only references (Lawrence) LTCF app ??

So I just got off the phone w/ the sherrif's secretary asking if I still needed to bring in passport photos (since it still says so on their web site) she said no. she only said I needed two lawrence county resident references. WTF? I know Buttler & Allegheny dont require the references be from the respective county.

I guess i'm just annoyed since I had allready filled out the application w/ people I work w/ as references (neither of live in lawrence)

I would leave the application as you filled it out. And turn it in. If you are rejected on the fact that your references are from out of county, file an appeal. That is not a vaild reason, as stated in the Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act. They can't legally deny your application for have "out of county" references.

Could you have somebody else contact them to get hardcopy information on that regulation?

It may just be misinformation on behalf of the people behind the counter (or laziness to pay for the possible toll call) and not the actual regulation. (Someone else will keep you from looking like a harda$$ (instigator)).

They don't even have anything on their website about firearms.........hmmmm........

She just used white out on the form and I added two other (in county) references.

I asked if it was a Lawrence only regulation and she said yes.

The county cannot make it's own "regulation". They have no authority to do so. Man oh man....

I have a buddy who needs to have his LTCF renewed. He just came off active duty and hasn't been here in NEPA for years. He now lives in Monroe and knows nobody there.

He called the Sheriff and was told that the references MUST BE Monroe residents or the application will not be accepted.

    WTF???
