    Default Blackpowder

For all you blackpowder shooters...what's your choice of powder?
A variety here...the .50 likes 2f Swiss, the .54 likes Goex Cartridge Grade, the little .40 likes 3f Goex and the revolvers will eat anything 3f. Course in my cartridge rifles I use Goex Cartridge Grade.

Goex in everything from the .32 percussion w/4F, .50 T/C Hawken w/2F, bowling ball launcher w/3F.....lots and lots of 3F

I have tried the clean burning stuff, didnt really care for it. No reason, just stubborn i guess.

I only use Goex ff and ffff (main and prime). A few local stores sell it at somewhat reasonable prices.

    All Goex...

The 50cal flintlock gets 3F all the way around for range plinking. When hunting, I run 4F in the pan for the faster ignition.

3F in the 44 BP pistol.

Goex FFg in the Lyman GPR flinter .50 Cal and the smoothbore .54 with FFFg in the pan. Same for the 12 ga. SXS and the 20 ga. flintlock fowler.
The pistols - two .50 cal and a .36 Remington - get FFFg. A Howdah SXS pistol gets FFg.
The BP shotshells get FFg. The BP cartridge guns from .38 to the 577-450 get FFg also.
The golf ball mortars get Fg or FFg.
The FFFg is Swiss. The rest is Goex.

Anyone tried KIK? I've got 12 lbs. of it sitting here and have yet to try it out. Everything I'd read on it was good and the price was right at $11 a lb...figured if nothing else liked it the revolvers would get a good workout.
