Ackley & Sons Outfitters Westfield, PA
Shopped there from the time i was 12 until i was 16 then moved to the Pocono area for 5 years and upon return found the place with new owners. Now this place is absolutely horrible. The only time i ever shop there is when I am driving by and I dont really want anything. Last 10 times i have stopped there they didnt have 75% of the things I needed and some young kid(16-17 at max) was working the gun counter. Upon asking for 500 S&W ammo the clerk laughed and asked what I could possibly need a .500 magnum handgun for and why didnt i just buy a desert eagle. Went there a few times after that for random reloading odds and ends and the same kid was working. Asked for a few different powders which are among the most common. Same with primers they had 100 large rifle and absolutely no large pistol primers so they said they would order them and 6 weeks later they still havent ordered anything at all. Everytime i stop back they have less and less of what I need and want and more of what they like. Hell they only carry two different types of ammo for .45 ACP because they like 9mm better.
In a summed up version avoid this place if you can and if you do stop there dont plan on them having it.

Agreed. Since the sale of the place to the current ownership, Ackley's is merely a hardware store, IMO.

Stop in twice a year, when we are up at deer camp. Since I was 12 the place has seemed to be on a steady decline. I'll continue to stop in, just not buy anything.
