Revolvers and cc
What revolver is easiest to conceal, but still packs enough punch for self defense?

My girlfriend carries a S&W 360 chambered in 357 Mag. 1 7/8" barrel. Nice purse or pocket gun. I like the fact it has an external hammer. Id say anything you can conceal on your person chambered in 357 would do the trick

Re: Revolvers and cc
The weapon that is best for you to carry concealed depends greatly on your physical attributes and where you want to carry it - there is no one right answer. I would talk to a good gun shop about trying on some different options.
That being said, the Smith and Wesson J-Frame in .38 Special is a popular option for concealed carry of a revolver. It's what I would try first if I was going to CC a wheel gun.

+1 on J-Frame sized with .38spl. Good PD ammo is available (Hornady, Speer) and more controllable than .357 in that situation but still a man-stopper, IMO. I have a Bodyguard 38 for pocket carry when the style of pants calls for it.

Re: Revolvers and cc
Pretty much a J-frame sized revolver with a 2"-3" barrel chambered in .32H&R Mag(warmed up), .327Mag, .38Spl, or .357Mag is the easiest revolver to carry with substantial stopping power.
S&W, Ruger, Taurus, Charter Arms, and Rossi all make a revolver of that general size. There are some old Colts and rarities that are in the same size range too.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Just remember that these 2 inch double action guns aren't the easiest to shoot. And cocking a hammer into single action in a fight is pure fantasy.

Re: Revolvers and cc
I agree with the j-frame suggestions. IMO, .38 SPL JHP is a very effective round. I've run .357 MAG through my j-frame and have to say, it is painful. So, I decided to stick with the .38 standard load, not even +P.

Re: Revolvers and cc
I carry a Ruger SP101 2in. It's pretty hefty compared to other snubbies but 357 is pretty controllable with the weight and 38 is a breeze. Also bought a S&W 642 about a month ago and have been pocket carrying that the last two weeks. Going to make carrying this summer much easier. I'd recommend either of these depending on how you plan to carry.

I have a Ruger LCR in .38, and find it a very good choice. A S&W j-frame is another excellent choice.
