AIM Surplus
Has anyone had credit card issues with aim lately? I get a call today at work from them stating that my card is declined? I think to myself thats impossible I have plenty of funds. So I clarify the card number and have them try again "DECLINED". WTF is going on? So I experiment with the card here on my works CC machine and charge a dollar to it and it runs fine.
I call my branch office, then I called the main bank office and they don't even see aim's attempt to charge the card, but they see the dollar that I charged to my own card.
One more call to aim and one more number run later and its still declined. Stuff like this has me pulling my hair out. I have never had this problem with any online vendor and I think I might have to shop somewhere else if they don't know how to run their CC machine.
I told them to try to run the card tomorrow. If it doesn't work, this will probably be my last experience with them.
Brad.

I haven't had any issues with AIMSurplus, but I had the exact issue with Newegg recently.

Re: AIM Surplus
Never had a problem with AIM. In fact I ordered two rifles at different times and had them sent to my FFL dealer. Things went very smoothly in what had potential to be a more complex transaction.

Re: AIM Surplus
Check with the REAL issuer of your CC (which is not necessarily the name on the card). At least one major CC issuer will not approve a purchase for a gun related product.

Re: AIM Surplus
well its my bank's debit/credit card. It all gets taken out of the same place. I don't see how it would be Visa's business as to what I'm doing with my personal funds

Re: AIM Surplus
Sorry, my bad. It's a company that processes credit card transactions.
Credit card company: No more buying guns
excerpts:
"It is our policy not to service merchants that make non face-to-face sales in a number of industries, including firearms,"
"First Data processes more card transactions for gun sales in a face to face environment than any other credit card processor," her statement said. "We do not have a position in the debate about gun control policy. Our credit policies center around certain transactions that occur in a non face-to-face environment and involve third parties to which First Data has no contractual relationship, and therefore pose business concerns about the risk of certain types of transactions."
Possibly your bank uses this company. Just a thought.Last edited by str8shooter; February 14th, 2008 at 07:58 PM.

Re: AIM Surplus
If thats what the problem is thats just plain B/S. I work for my money just like every other person and I should be able to spend it how I see fit. No third party should should be able to deny where its spent. Guess I'll have to call my banks office tomorrow and find out who handles the processing for their cards. It may lead to opening another account elsewhere.
