Default Carbon county courthouse, great experience!

I had to renew my LTCF today, went to the courthouse, sheriff checked me in, gave me the renewal application, once I filled it out went back to the sheriffs office. Gave the woman my application, took pic, handed my LTCF.

I was in and out of there in 15 mins, everything was straight forward, very good People!

I need to go there for initial Application. I haven't lived in Carbon county too long, and don't know many people here. I have the application but I need the two references. Going to ask some neighbors. Do you have to make an Appointment for the sheriff's office or can you just walk in?

Your references do not need to live in the county you are applying in.

For real? I could have sworn it said carbon county residents... Do they have to be PA residents? My best friend is an NYPD PO.

I think when I did my renewal in Carbon county it did say they had to be Carbon county residents.

The UFA does not impose such restrictions. They don't even have to be PA residents.

You need 2 references from the county in which your applying for the permit

According to the UFA, that's incorrect. The sheriff shouldn't be setting his own rules. The past two times I renewed in Lancaster, neither of my references were in Lancaster.

I agree with you, it's just what the sheriff said.
