Default April 22 Oley Carbine and Pistol Match and separate sporting clays course

    General Info:

    Carbine/Pistol match is $15 non-members / $10 for club members

Sporting Clays at the club is being held this day too from 9am to approximately 2pm...$12 for 50 birds. The sporting clays course can also be shot by itself and does not require a reservation - just show up between 9am and approximately 2 pm and shoot.

April's match will only have one time slot at 1200 until at the latest 1630.

We will start on the 100 yard range with rilfe only and then move to the 50 yard range for rifle and pistol.

Short range stages may be shot with carbine and/or pistol. If you want to shoot both in the same stage a OWB holster and rifle sling which holds the rifle in front of you in muzzle down position is required.

There will be both shooting from a firing line and 1 shooter at a time in practical style stages such as in IDPA, USPSA, 3 gun etc.

Targets will be a mixture of paper and reactive swingers.

Reservation link at bottom of the page.

    The Fine Print:

Do you hold these events on a regular basis? I would really like to come, but it turns out that I will be at a convention that week. I haven't seen to many places in SEPA that have outdoor pistol competitions let alone carbine matches. I would like to get involved in the sport. Was hoping to watch a few before I decided to enter my first match.

We have one almost every month.

There is no point in watching first. Just come to one whenever you are able and participate. We are friendly and welcoming to beginners and it's casual regarding unnecessary procedural/equipment rules one may encounter in idpa etc.

It's also run what you brung.... ar15 and ak semi autos are by far the most popular but you could shoot a bolt 1903 and a ruger vaquero revolver if you wanted to. .22 is even allowed.
Because I can't fit Catman in my pocket.

Thumbs up Re: April 22 Oley Carbine and Pistol Match and separate sporting clays course

    Very Cool!!!

That range is only about an hour and 15 minutes from me. Not a bad drive. I might just have to check out next months event if you are having one. I will keep my eyes open for an announcement.

I literally just got my AR this past week and am still playing around with it. Haven't shot a rifle in years, but it seems to be coming back really quick. Just learning the new to me platform and I have to say it is God damned fun.

Glad to hear that your events are pretty casual and laid back. I have been wanting to get involved in IDPA and other competitions simply for fun. I am just picking up shooting again and haven't shot a lot since I was a teenager. Looking for a group of non-critical folks that I can learn from and develop my skills without all the political BS that can sometimes go along with competitive sports.

    Keep me posted.

As soon as you have a date set up for May, assuming you have one of these events every month, please send me a PM so that I can put it on my calendar.
