Default Upgrade my XD 45 or get something else?

Well i have an XD-45 basic model. Since buying my 500 S&W I want to bring my XD up in quality but for the one i have all they list is a match barrel and trigger kit for it anywhere i have looked.

Should i keep this gun and upgrade it or swap it in for something new? Purpose is going to be Concealed Carry

A springer trigger and some quality night-sights; maybe a laser (I have a CT on mine); I wouldn't waste money on a match barrel unless you are shooting competition.

That barrel is half-way to another gun!

I totally agree. My XD 45 Compact is very accurate out of the box. I would like to go with a set of night sights and i never thought about a trigger job but that would be nice too.

I honestly feel it is a GREAT gun for the money. I don't think I will ever get rid of mine and I am a revolver guy at heart.

I have the XD SC & the XDM 3.8 in 9mm. As other have stated I wouldn't spend the money for a match barrel. Just me but I see no need for a trigger up grade.

As far as the CT laser. Love it on my LCP. Got rid of the grip laser sight on the XD. Made the grip to big for my small hands. Wouldn't hesitate to add a rail mount on either the XD or XDM. But then you have holster issues.

I suggest selling the S&W 500 and using some of the money to buy a quality leather belt and holster. As mentioned before, get a good set of night sites as well. The XD platform is just fine for defensive purposes right out of the box. The 500 magnum is nothing more than an expensive novelty.

The 500 isnt going anywhere. I have plenty of money to spend if i see fit. I would like my XD to be as accurate as possible is why i would go with a match barrel. Night Sights i already have as well and have been looking for a decent laser sight.

As for accuracy the thing that makes me want to upgrade the XD the most is my cousin had a ruger SR-40 and I could shoot a nice group with it even at a far distance. The XD-45 just lacks accuracy all around.

Trade the XD in on an XDm. Already has a match barrel and slightly better trigger. Get one with night sights.

What he said! I have the XDM 45 and I love it. It is capable of way better accuracy than I am. It is big but with the right holster its easy to CC. Better to OC it though. Lol I have a Desantis 3 slot holster for it and love it for concealed carry. My buddy has a Crossbreed super tuck for his and loves it.

I have been avoiding S&W autos for a while but a few weeks ago I gave in and looked over and bought an M&P .45. I would rather have it than an XD even though XDs are pretty good. My M&P has joined the rank of ones that I will keep.
