    Default The A-Ville Inn Arendtsville

I stopped in on my way home to have a beer and shoot a game of pool at the local tavern. I don't really go out much, but my wife and daughter were staying out. Of course, nothing was said until I was on my way out and was not going to spend any more money. I thanked the bartender for the great service and I was asked if I was carrying a gun. I said, yeah. And I was informed that it is against company policy to carry there. I told him that I respect their policy. I will not be going back. I DO respect their right to private property and their right to have their own policies. I cannot deny them that. But, I respect my own right to protect myself more.

    Thats strange.
I have been there years back, mostlikely once a week.
Everyone I met was a gun owner. Gun shows would be on TV. In fact, some of the best conversation on firearms was in the bar.

I/we don't drink much anymore, so I haven't been stopping in.

A-ville was sold a few years back . I was almost sure it wasn't legal to carry into a bar. I know no federal buildings are allowed but are not places that service alcohol also on the no carry list?

Good to know . I try to stay away from bars anyhow . I know too many people who have had dui's from leaving a bar with 2 drinks in this area.

Wow, I didn't expect anything else to come from this thread. Hey, tweav. Welcome to the site. I haven't been on here much lately. I took up waterfowling this year, so I've been half assing my way through that. Glad to see another local here.

Hahahahahaaaa!!!! A-ville Inn, huh? Man! That brings back some memories!

Back in the day, that place used to have a real reputation. I'd usually only sneak in and grab a few sixes to go. Going in to drink/shoot pool or play darts was reserved for weekdays when you weren't alone - and the immigrants were in the orchards! I'm not really prejudice (sure try not to be anyway!), but you'd have had to be crazy to go in there back then when it was overflowing with hard-case Mexicans - with knives and attitudes!

Me and my buddies were only 16, 17 or so, but we've never get carded. I think they welcomed the different, not-so-rowdy clientele!

My oh my! How times have changed! Still, understanding the history of the place, I'm not surprised they're a no-carry establishment.

Just curious, how/why did RTC/CCW come up?
    Sig lines here suck!

I was shooting pool and I guess someone saw it when I leaned over the table. Or the bartender noticed my bulge.
