Which Railed 1911?
I'm trying to decide on my next 1911. I'm torn between two at the moment.
Springfield Full-size MC Operator
http://www.springfield-armory.com/armory.php?version=34
or...
Kimber Tactical Entry II
http://www.kimberamerica.com/1911/ta...tical-entry-ii
Anyone have experience with either?

Re: Which Railed 1911?
The SA hands down. The new Colt Rail Gun is also worth a gander...
I prefer this but SA makes a great 1911.

Re: Which Railed 1911?
Dan Wesson is coming out with a railed 1911 this year called a Specialist. All hand fit, all machined parts (no mim). Their version of the heinie straight eight night sights. The Dan Wessons are the bargains of the 1911 market right now for what they put into each pistol.

Re: Which Railed 1911?
Kimber. It is checkered instead of the cheap, Pachmayr wrap-wround. Comes with extended magwell. The model you're looking at is known for being LB and WC accurate, and the trigger, out of the box is better. Don't believe the Kimber hype, if I had to fight, I would take the Kimber. The only downfall to the Kimber is the one year warranty.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Love and trust my Kimber, but I like the SA Operator better than the Tac Ent.

Re: Which Railed 1911?
After doing a littlle research the SA ran $999 used - $1345 the Kimber I saw prices $1295 - $1845 maybe because the Kimber is more dressed out like 300 WM said. I have a Kimber and it is a sweet piece I'm going to put some night sights on it and leave as is. If you can find a Kimber entry II for $1250 about the same price as SA MC opeator I'd get the Kimber better trigger and mods.
That being said if I get another 1911 it will be a Loaded Springfield because of the life time warranty, I'll just get the trigger worked so that it matches what Kimber is out of the box.
Then you have the $1100 S&W E series with the rail.
The price of your 1st two choices are $200 slight of the Dan Wesson that is spoke so highly of. $200 is still a lot of money.Last edited by Neko456; March 29th, 2012 at 10:24 AM.
