Will i be able to buy my first handgun?
I am looking to buy my first firearm for home protection. I also wanted to apply for my permit to carry. I had an old pfa that expired 6months a go. I am confused if this expired and longer valid pfa will deny me from buying or my permit to carry?

As soon as the PFA is expired you are good-to-go.

It should NOT stop you from purchasing a firearm or obtaining a CCW permit. I doubt it would even show up.

It's possible. He said he was "red-flagged" but he did not say why. He was approved the day as near as I can tell. PICS delays apps for all kinds of reasons, including similar names and just plain busy.

He was delayed, if you read the whole thread he states on page 3 that he was approved. As I commented in that thread, as soon as the PFA is removed you should be able to get a sidearm or LTCF as long as no other charges were added that would make you a prohibited person. When I went in to get my .45, I was waiting for my PICS to finish and the operator called back giving an OK to an application that was placed an hour earlier and delayed. They looked all around the store for the guy who was advised to wait, so they had to call him and have him come back. So I know it can take a short time but it should work out.
